An officer wounded during the old National Bank Mass shooting in Louisville in April was honored over the weekend.

Louisville Metro Police Officer Nicholas Wilt received the Kentuckian of the Year award at the 10th Annual Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards held Saturday in Louisville.

Wilt, as you'll recall, was shot in the head while responding to the April 10th shooting that left five people dead and eight others injured, including Wilt.

Governor Bashir presented Wilt with the award, calling him, quote, a true Kentucky hero that he is.
